About Saronic

Saronic Technologies builds autonomous vessels for the U.S. Navy and allied defense customers.

Founded in 2022, the company has scaled from a startup into one of the fastest-growing defense contractors in history. As of December 2025, Saronic has 1,000+ employees, 700,000+ square feet of facilities across Texas and Louisiana, $850M in total capital raised, and has delivered over 160 vessels to customers. The company operates four vessel classes ranging from a 24-foot production platform to a 180-foot autonomous ship, and recently expanded into underwater vehicles.

The inflection point has arrived. Saronic is no longer a defense startup. It is a defense prime in the making.

The Opportunity

America is in a maritime crisis it has been slow to acknowledge. China builds 200 times more ships per year than the United States. The U.S. Navy's 30-year shipbuilding plan alone calls for $1.2 trillion in new vessels, with an additional $2.6 trillion in global fleet maintenance and operations spending over the same period.

The problem is not just funding. It is the industrial base. Traditional U.S. shipyards were designed for manned capital ships, not fast-turn, high-volume production of unmanned platforms. Saronic is building the manufacturing infrastructure the country is missing: autonomy-first vessel design, greenfield shipyard economics, and serial production at scale.

Why It’s Working

The Numbers

  • $200M in revenue in 2025, up 50x year-over-year

  • $389M in bookings and a $7.7B active contract pipeline, up 5x over 2025

  • $392M U.S. Navy production contract, with the ceiling expected to grow to $1B in 2026

  • Downselected into the Missile Defense Agency's SHIELD IDIQ, a $151B program

  • 77,000 nautical miles run and 15,000+ hours of testing

The Product

Saronic builds four platforms on a shared autonomy architecture. The Corsair (24 feet) is the production workhorse, with 160+ units delivered and the Navy contract as its backbone. The Mirage (52 feet) is a mid-size platform with 2,500+ nm range, scaling in 2026. The Marauder (180 feet) is the autonomous ship, capable of 30-day missions with no crew and a 150-metric-ton payload. First hull began construction in June 2025. And Helix is their new underwater vehicle, built in under five months, extending the platform below the surface. No other company in this space has all four.

Saronic also holds a UK Technology Demonstrator Contract and has established testing facilities in Australia.

Infrastructure

Austin (700,000+ sq ft) handles Corsair production today. Franklin, Louisiana is a $300M shipyard modernization completing in 2026. Port Alpha is the long-term play: a $5B+ greenfield facility on 1,500+ acres, targeting 10,000 jobs, with groundbreaking in 2028.

The Team

CEO Dino Mavrookas is a former Navy SEAL who came out of 8VC's Build program. His leadership team spans DoD acquisition (Bob Lahman), maritime robotics (Douglas Lambert), and autonomy software (Vibhav Altekar, formerly Anduril). They can win contracts, build hardware, and ship software at the same time. That combination is rare.

Why We’re Interested (LFG POV)

Saronic is doing to naval warfare what Anduril did to defense technology broadly. Same fixed-price model, same software-defined approach, same urgency. Except they are operating in a market that legacy primes have completely failed to serve, with $5.7B in new government spending coming their way and a manufacturing advantage that cannot be replicated overnight.

The Series D is led by Kleiner Perkins with $150M committed. We are purchasing preferred shares at the same price per share as the Series D primary round. The capital is going directly toward the Franklin shipyard expansion, Marauder production scale, and groundwork for Port Alpha. These are the investments that determine whether revenue continues to grow. We believe they will.

The numbers are already there. The product works. The contracts are signed. We are investing in the execution.
